FICTION Silicon Valley
There are presently no open calls for submissions.
If any submission category is not available below, then the monthly limit for submissions in that category has been reached.
If no categories are available below, then the monthly limit has been reached in every category.
No matter what, every category will open again at the start of the new month. Be one of the first to submit next month so you can get in before it closes again.
I'm afraid I cannot accept submissions outside the normal process (e.g. email, carrier pigeon, etc.) as I would be unable to keep track of everything based on the volume of submissions.
Check the FAQ @ fictionsv.com to see how to increase the number of free monthly submissions.
What am I looking for from artists? I want fiction from 2 - 20,000 words in any genre and poetry in any style (English only). In essence, I am looking for your best work, previously published or not. That's right, I accept work that was published before as long as you have regained the rights from your previous publisher(s) to sell it again. And I pay you for it.
What aren't I looking for? The usual suspects. Submissions must be appropriate for reading and viewing by the general public. Appropriateness will be determined solely by me as Editor-in-Chief of FICTION Silicon Valley. So don't send me anything that is obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, racially or ethnically offensive, or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or violate any law. I don't even finish reading these submissions and reject them faster than you can say (insert unique word here). There are far too many awesome stories and poems to read in their entirety to waste valuable time on something that doesn't enrich our lives while entertaining us.
*A note about submission response times: I read every submission so it may take me some time to get back to you. Please be patient as I get through everyone's submissions and give each one the time and consideration it deserves. Here's a hint for you: the longer it takes for me to get back to you, the better your chances that I am finding a good home for your submission. - Steve DW
